John P. Kristensen joined Carpenter & Zuckerman in 2021 after nine years of running his own plaintiffs’ law firm, Kristensen LLP. John specializes in litigating product liability, civil rights, employment law, sex offense, and consumer class action cases.
Mr. Kristensen is currently litigating six separate product liability lawsuits against Polaris Industries and has filed for class certification in federal class action cases against the company.

Accomplishments & Accolades

An experienced litigator, Mr. Kristensen was responsible for a record National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) fine against Toyota Motor Corporation when he exposed the company’s lies to the United States government concerning recalls it issued in Japan but failed to issue in America.
Among Mr. Kristensen’s many professional accomplishments, in July 2021, he won an $8.9 million verdict in Los Angeles Superior Court on an assault case. Previously, he obtained a then-record amount for an individual Title IX settlement.
In July 2022, Mr. Kristensen tried an employment case in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. His two clients received judgments exceeding $400,000 for minimum wage claims. In February 2023, Mr. Kristensen secured a $5.5 million verdict in Los Angeles Superior Court in a complex business tort lawsuit over a laundromat.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kristensen has been honored with many prestigious accolades. Most notably, he was previously selected as one of five lawyers to watch in the Daily Journal’s “Top 20 under 40” edition. In recent years, Mr. Kristensen has been named Class Counsel four times by the federal courts in California and the Southern District of New York.
